Episode 8 – The Path to the Pokémon League
Ash, Pikachu, Brock, and Misty travel in the direction of Vermillion City. Before arriving, Ash receives his tenth pokémon battle victory! His confidence leads him to challenge A.J. – a fierce wild pokémon trainer who has 98 consecutive wins and has never lost a pokémon battle. Ash has met his egotistical match. He and butterfree lose the battle to A.J. and his sandshrew. A.J. has just won his 99th win! After accusing A.J. of cheating, Ash happens to observe the harsh, strict training methods of A.J. and his unofficial pokémon gym. He looks to Brock for support against A.J’s training methods, but Brock seems more interested in the pokémon food which A.J. has developed to create such strong, healthy pokémon. After Team Rocket makes a mistake and captures A.J.’s sandshrew thinking it was Pikachu, they insult A.J., sandshrew, and their unofficial gym. Will this lead to victory number 100?
Episode 7 – The Water Flowers Of Cerulean City

Ash, Pikachu, and Brock decide to go to Cerulean City. Misty attempts to convince her companions to skip Cerulean City completely – a plea which falls on deaf ears as Ash is determined to challenge the gym leader at the Cerulean City gym. Upon arriving at Cerulean City, Ash and Brock realize that Misty did not follow them. At the Cerulean City gym, Ash and Pikachu meet the water ballet performers known as the Sensational Sisters – Cerulean gym sisters Daisy, Violet, and Lily – who happen to be the Cerulean City gym leaders. The sisters report that their pokémon are all at the Pokémon Center following crushing defeats from other Pallet Town trainers. They offer Ash the Cascade badge for nothing. However, a surprising forth gym leader suddenly appears and challenges Ash to a battle for the Cascade badge!
Episode 6 – Clefairy And The Moon Stone
Ash, Pikachu, Misty and Brock arrive at Mt. Moon to find Seymour the scientist being attacked by zubats outside of their caves. Seymour explains that someone has placed lights within the caves and that this has disturbed the pokémon who live in the dark there. He tells of his theory that someone is searching the caves for the legendary and elusive Moon Stone which increases the power of pokémon. His theory proves correct and the ones after the Moon Stone turn out to be none other than Team Rocket. After befriending a clefairy, our friends are led to the Moon Stone which the clefairy hold as sacred. Team Rocket arrives to try to take the Moon Stone from the clefairy.

As Ash, Pikachu, and Misty continue to wander through Viridian Forest, Ash is challenged to a pokémon battle by a Samurai. A fierce battle of metapod versus metapod! The battle is interrupted by a swarm of beedrill which attack – stealing Ash’s metapod.
